Silvana Effio, is a multiple Emmy Award-Winning journalist with over 15 years of experience in the broadcast media industry.
She is currently co hosting "Acceso Total" a lifestyle and entertainment show that airs from coast to coast in the US on Telemundo.

Career
As a versatile journalist, throughout her career she has covered day to day, breaking news, human-interest, investigative, political and entertainment stories, most recently the interview with Jennifer Lopez, and some others that gained national and international attention such as Joshua Holt an American prisoned in Venezuela.

Prior to her current title, Silvana was a primetime news anchor for Telemundo Colorado. She also delivered the news into Utah’s Hispanic homes for eight consecutive years. She was the lead news anchor and news director for Telemundo Utah's primetime shows.
As a news director, Silvana orchestrated the first Hispanic newscast to go live in the state of Utah.
And during the early years of her career, also served as a reporter, producer, and co-anchor. She worked in local, national, English and Spanish speaking TV stations and wrote for newspapers such as the Deseret News’ “OKEspañol.”

Education
As a recently arrived immigrant, at age 17, Silvana, who is a native from Peru, began her higher education earning scholarships from stations such as NBC affiliate, KSL5. At age 19, she got her first job as a part time reporter and graduated from the University of Utah.

Community Involvement
As a Latino immigrant she has worked closely with Hispanic community members and state leaders in the states of California, Colorado and Utah.
She has moderated bilingual political debates such as Salt Lake City’s Mayoral Race in 2016, and has emceed traditional annual events for several consecutive years; including the Governor's Multicultural Youth Leadership Days, annual Cinco de Mayo Festivals, as well as the LULAC National Convention 2015, among many others.

Awards
Silvana is an Emmy-award winning journalist. In 2016, Silvana was given the Tumi Award , in Miami, Florida, for her work as a female journalist. A humbling experience for her, as the TUMI has been awarded to international songwriter Gianmarco, world-known entrepreneur/chef Gaston Acurio, and the 66th president of Peru, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
